RUBY Eid range by Rabia Z.

Rabia Z.'s ready-to-wear high-street label, RUBY, is coming with their latest collection, the Eid Collection. This collection can be bought through Facebook.

This is the first time you can buy Rabia Z.'s exclusive and limited collection on Facebook. All prices of the 2011 Eid Collection featured on their Shopping Page on Facebook are heavily discounted ONLY for 2 WEEKS. Promotion ends August 16th, 2011. So, I think right now there are only FEW DAYS LEFT to get these special prices. I am sorry, I am late to post this.. :@

I have to admit that I am a fan of Rabia Z.'s designs. The outfit-styling of Rabia Z.'s designs are so effortlessly stylish. They look comfort to wear and have a beautiful drapery effect. I love the designs, the color palletes, the materials, and the cut.. very versatile and sophisticated.

As for the Eid look, there are six jersey tops in various colours and designs to choose from (with matching Rabia Z. Signature Jersey Sheyla for the 'package deals' and some ways on how-to-style-it-up on Rabia Z. Facebook shopping page).

Here are two my favorites:

The Eid Collection will also come up with the Versatile Accent / Base Band which will be coming soon to Rabia Z.'s Facebook shopping page. You can wear this headband as a base band or styling it over your sheyla to get an accent of "two scarves" look but without the added layer.

HCY Sunday Fun, July 24th, 2011

Sunday Style

Last Hijabers Community Yogyakarta (HCY)'s Sunday Fun (July 24th, 2011) was great. We had 'tausiyah Ramadhan' by Ustadz Edi and an interesting sharing about Hijab and Fashion; Also, a Fashion Garage Sale on Rahmadinna Boutique's yard.

The 'tausiyah' talked about what should we do to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadhan (topic: "Marhaban yaa Ramadhan") and Q.S. Maryam: 16 - 36 (about Maryam a.s. who was ordered to 'shaum' / fasting < in this case, not talking to anyone > just after she gave birth of Prophet Isa a.s. And then Baby Isa a.s. himself spoke out to explain about who He is).

After the 'tausiyah', a special guest from University of Colorado, Carla Jones, an Assistant Professor of Anthropology, raised up some questions to the forum for sharing and being discussed regarding to her research on women, hijab, and fashion.

At the end of Sunday Fun event.. is time for photoshoots! :)

In the events like this, usually we can see various creative looks of hijab worn by Muslimahs.

My favorite look in the picture above is the look of one sister at the corner of bottom right. Her hijab was exceeded to her hip. It looks like an 'all in one' headscarf and vest. She also accessorized it with a loose thin belt at the hip... looks chic and unique.

And also this sister. With just a simple little headband, her hijab style looked different.

Love these hijab wraps:

See you on the next Sunday Style!

A sneak peek on creative Jilbab/Abaya Designs..

SilkRoute Jilbab/Abaya Design Competition 2011: Get ready to vote!

Some of you perhaps have submitted your design's sketches for 2011 StyleIn! SilkRoute Jilbab Design Competition. August 1st, 2011 is the last day to submit the design's sketches. After that, you can vote for your favorite design. Your votes also will determine the winner.

So, before you vote, take a peek in the gallery here where you can see all participants' designs.

I have taken my time to look at the gallery, and I was stunned by many amazing designs. You all are so creative! :)

The Jazmina by Antonia from USA is one of my favorites. I love the concept, the usefulness and the practicality of her design. Also, her design reminds me of a kind of jilbab or coat my sister has been looking for.

Have you visit the StyleIn! Competition's gallery? Which one is your favorite?

Or, did you submit your own designs? If you did, please share the link (in StyleIn! gallery) to your design.. here in the comment section, so my lovely readers and I can take a look and vote for your design if we love it.. ^_^

Boots and Dresses are In!

Trans-seasonal Fashion

To welcome Fall season in some countries, Net-A-Porter has set up a modern match for your look by teaming high hemlines with edgy ankle boots.

Still wearing the pretty Summer dress.. but, matched it up with a pair of Fall style staple, the urban ankle boots, to add a sense of Autumn breeze and for the ultimate trans-seasonal fashion match.

Style note: For hijabi like us, simply add a trouser or a skirt, and then layer it up with an outerwear (a light jacket, cardigan, blazer, or trench coat) if the dress is sleeveless. Or, you can wear your long-sleeved maxi dress or long-sleeved maxi jumpsuit underneath the Summer sleeveless minidress.

Pop up your headscarf and you are ready to go! :)

The addition of a vest, or a belt, or minimalist accessories, can also jazz up the looks.

For easy outfit-styling for hijabi, simply wear a maxi instead of a mini dress, and give it a modern edge with one of these ankle boots, then accessorized it with a jacket or a vest. I love the look of it!.. A flowy, feminine, pretty maxi dress teamed up with urban, edgy ankle boots..

As for ankle boots, my favorite lately are the lace-up ones.. ^_^

What's on trend..

Hoodie-attached and the excessive draped-cloth on the side part of the dress/skirt.

Lately in my city, we can see so many girls in hijab wearing a hoodie-attached dress or a hoodie-attached t-shirt. The hoodie can be functioned as a shawl, too.

Also, which is so popular here right now is a dress or a skirt with "wings" (excessive cloth draped on the side part of the dress/skirt).

The colors chosen for these clothes, such as yellow mustard, shocking pink, tosca green, or red maroon, also add a highlight to the outfits.

For most people, especially the young generation, the "wings" (excessive draped-cloth on the side) is something new. But, when recently I explored my mom's wardrobe (^_^), I found one of her vintage dresses also has these kind of "wings".

My Mom's vintage dress

So, actually (like most of you perhaps already know) some trends are only making a cycle, they just 'come-and-go' continually..

What do you think about these kind of clothes? Do you have one?
