One of blogs I love is Asma's blog, titled Haute Muslimah. I love most of picked-up styles she put on her blog, from celeb's or runway Haute Couture... very inspiring and fabulous. Recently, Asma sent me her top tips in style that she'd like to share to all Fashioning Faith's readers. She also gave a bit words on what Haute Muslimah is all about.
According to Asma,
"At Haute Muslimah, Muslim women can find ideas on how to wear clothes, where to buy them, and how to put them together. It's a place to find trends, and items you see on the runway and in high fashion, and how to incorporate those pieces of clothing into their Islamic lives."

And here are a few
style tips from Asma:
-Keep your look as simple as you can.
You want to look unfussy. Many hijabis just layer and layer so many clothes together that it loses any sense of style or elegance. Try to keep layering to a minimum, unless it's winter :)
-Be creative with hijabs and the way you wear them. Use hijab pins and bands around your hijab to pull your look together.
-You don't have to be matchy matchy with everything in your closet. Your shoes, belt, bag, and hijab do not have to all match. Try wearing colors that compliment each other well.
-My personal favorite: Keep a variety of cardigans in your closet for all occasions. Simple ones, fancy ones, light and heavier ones as well. They'll come in handy as a cute cover-up.Want to share your style tips too? Readers' Style
Nusrat Sami, one of my readers from Bangladesh that I have featured here few days ago, sent me her photograph wearing "dupatta" as her hijab.
She wants to show us how she wears dupatta as hijab. She said to me that the girls in India and Bangladesh who wear Shalwar Kameez (Indian and Bangladeshi suit) find it difficult to drape the dupatta as hijab, as it is too long and not like the usual hijabs we wear. Concerning to this, she said she have found a way to drape dupatta as a hijab in a fashionable way.

If you don't know yet what "dupatta" is, here's a bit explanation about it, quoted from
Wikipedia:
"Dupatta is a long, multi-purpose scarf that is essential to many South Asian women's suits. Some "dupatta suits" include the shalwar kameez and the kurta. And it has long been a symbol of modesty in South Asian dress. The primary use of a dupatta is to cover the head and/or any inadvertent cleavage and the contour of the bosom."
"However, the use of the dupatta has undergone a metamorphosis over time. In current fashions, the dupatta is frequently draped over one shoulder, and even over just the arms. Another recent trend is the short dupatta often seen with kurtas and Indo-Western clothing. Essentially, the dupatta is often treated as an accessory in current urban fashion."

As an appreciation to my readers, I want to open a new categories titled Readers' Style. There are few emails sent to me which reads they really want to be featured on Fashioning Faith and hope they can be an inspiration for all muslim women. I think it's also interesting to see what other people wear and see what their styles.
The first reader's style that I want to feature here come from Nusrat Sami from Bangladesh. And this is what she said to me:
I'm a student now, and about to finish my graduation from Bangladesh. Actually I never sent my picture to anywhere before this though I was interested in hijab style from earlier time.
I was not used to wear hijab but it's a guidance from Allah and some true friends of mine who helped me to choose this path of Allah... and I knew that hijab doesn't make a girl stay behind rather it upholds themselves, introduce them as a new one with their personality. And I think, within the hijab a girl can make herself a million times beautiful than without hijab.
I believe in my style because every person in this world born with different attributes, they have different views. I always try to look myself as a good and presentable, so that others don't run away from me.... and the main thing is I'm addicted to try different style. I just feel empty without any spice in my hijab... so just to add some spice I play with my hijab.... :)
