Cutie Little Tita with her turban style..

Street style

Twice a week I take and accompany my 4 years old son to the place where he learn to read Al Qur'an.

The last time I took him, I saw one of his friends, Tita, wearing a cute kebaya-outfit with a headscarf wrapped into a 'turban style'.

I love seeing her style, so I can't help myself from not photograhing her... Good job, Mom! ;)

Can you see yourself pull off this kind of headwrapping?

If you can, you can sporting this style by adding an inner ninja underneath the headscarf to cover up your neck, And... for you who comfortable if the chest area is covered too, you can also add a scarf twisted around your neck and upper bosom to add some coverage ..

Watch also today's editor's pick on hijab tutorial (on the right sidebar) showing a chic 'turban style' from HijUp.com.

And... keep an eye out to my next post about the latest designs in inner ninja, that I thought they are better than what there have been already popular.

See you!

Spring Casual

Featuring DVF Loves Current/Elliott for S/S 2012

This past recent week, I've been in the mood of casual outfits. Perhaps it is because of the hot weather in my hometown these days and my high activities that need me to move with ease.

My days were filled up with shirts, blouses, tees (my favorite this week is my navy stripes tee), jeans, pants, lightweight skirts or maxis, completed with breathable cotton-linen headscarves. For layering stuffs, I chose to wear a thin, lightweight blazer or jacket over the outfit.

Then I recently popped over Shopbop.com and let me tell you, there are a bunch of exciting stuffs and new designs coming out for this Spring/Summer collection...

In regard to my mood for 'Casual Looks' this recent week, I automatically got attracted to some pieces in casual style... The first pieces that were catching my eyes are from Diane von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces I picked from the collection:

The vintage-printed jeans:
DVF Denim
will be a perfect match with one of my favorite tops, the denim wrap shirt-dresses:
DVF dress
By adding this collarless silk chiffon blouse under the denim wrap dress above,
Silk chiffon blouse
the look surprisingly looks fresh and chic! :)

I really love on how the model was styled up by combining the two tops above... the denim wrap dress with the collarless silk floral-printed blouse under, and then accessorized them with a skinny leather belt.
DVF belts.
Other favorite pieces are the silk blouse and pants:

Some beautiful, fresh prints, flowy dresses:
Silk-chiffon Naira dress
Lehana dress
Hijab styling tips: Style them up with a chic cropped blazer and a pair of pants/jeans (or even adding an H-line ankle-graze skirt under the Lehana dress).

Two fabulous pairs of Spring shoes:

A scarf in "Spring colours" combined with black-and-white stripes:
Linescape scarf
Some gorgeous clutches:
Leather large envelope clutch
Embossed crocodile clutch

Anything you are particularly loving, too?

You can see the whole collection here.

Happy weekend! :)

Lusting over... Mulberry Spring/Summer 2012!

I was quite surprise when I saw an interesting Mulberry's ad in one site, featuring Mulberry's Summer 2012 collection showing a model wear a "covered" outfit for Summer season..

One thing that surprised me is that it's very rare for a "western" clothing line to design and style up their models in covered style, especially for Spring/Summer season which usually it is the time to wear "minimum" outfits..

That thought.. made me visited Mulberry's site, and took a look around for a while checking out their 'This Season's Collection' (SS12).

And... do you know what I found?

Surprisingly, there are lots of hijab-friendly clothing for this Spring and Summer season! Especially, if you can mix-and-match the pieces well, it would be a perfect Spring/Summer outfit! The pieces also look comfortable to wear...

Here are some of my favorites:
Long high-neck dress
matched with 'mini biker' blazer and a 'Teddy mini bag'.
Maxi skirt in wheat field tulle

combined with a painted fringe scarf  (really love this scarf  ^_^ ).
Tonal stripe scarf in multicolour cashmere
Collared biker lambskin jacket
Long tube dress in multicolour airbrush animal print silk

The collection is in a wide range of colours, from soft pastel colours, earth-tones, black-and-white, to bright yellow, all in fabulous designs.

I am lusting over them.. ;) Eventhough they might be not affordable for mostly of us, but this can give you an insight that Spring/Summer can be a "covered" season, too :)

Watch Mulberry SS12's Campaign here, and the Runway Show here...

and get inspired!

(All pieces are from Mulberry Spring/Summer 2012 collection)

Style Inspiration.. and tips.

I was browsing over my folders and files, and found this image of fabulously-looking Muslimah. I can not recall where the picture was from and when it was being photographed.

One thing that I remembered that I really adored her style, and.. when I found it just now, it still amplifies the current trend...

She rocked that "un-usual" cut of the shirt-dress and complimented her headscarf with a big statement brooch... then, smartly toned down all the garish 'black and white outfit' with a pair of 'one of this season's trends'... the nude shoes!

The shoes also break down the 'too matchy-matchy' colours from this look.

The style is simple.. but fabulous!

FashFaith Blog's style inspiration.
  Style Tips:

1. Try to add a big statement brooch onto your headscarf's wrap. It can be pinned on the side of your face just below your ears (like the look above), or at the back of your neck, on your shoulder, or above your inner hijab besides the forehead.

Or simply wear the inner hijab with a "brooch" attached like this... ^_^

It will unexpectedly boost up your look!

2. Don't be afraid to pull off some "un-usual" tops, it might be an asymmetrical-cut long shirt, awkward prints or designs, etc. You'd never know when it comes fit to your style. Or, with a right twist (for example by adding a belt or vest over it), it possibly makes you looking fabulous!

3. Go for a perfect nude shoes! Find a pair ones that matches your own skin tone, especially pick the pump-type shoes. They will go with almost everything!

Have a wonderful days!

Today's Readers' Style comes from Imani from the U.S.

In the photos she sent to FashioningFaith Blog, she was wearing a vintage coat-dress with a built in petticoat. Things that I love from her look, besides the coat, is that she rocks those shoes and the laces on her headscarf.. :)
